Active therapy is a Dumfries based clinic specialising in the treatment and maintenance of chronic and acute pain, sports injuries, and posture correction.

Using a variety of different  techniques, treatments are tailored to each individual case – assessing, diagnosing, and restoring function to the skeletal system; the muscular system; and the nervous system of the body.

Common problems include:

  • Sciatica
  • Upper and lower back pain
  • Neck ache/pain (including whiplash injuries)
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Shoulder pain/restriction (e.g. frozen shoulder/adhesive capsulitis)
  • Scapula dyskinesia
  • Sprained ankles
  • Fallen arches
  • Hip and knee pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Post operative rehab
  • Sports injury rehab
  • Ligament sprains and muscle strains

Appointments are up to 1.5 hours in length to allow the full treatment protocol to be followed:

Consultation and
Case History

We aim to treat the cause of the problem by looking at and treating the body as a whole; rather than just treating the symptom of pain. After the treatment we will then provide the patient with the necessary exercises to be done as homecare maintenance. This ensures the patient is not spending any unnecessary time in clinical appointments.

Our intention is to go the extra mile and provide you with much more than a standard treatment.
