Compression therapy

Compression Therapy

This is a treatment which can help improve circulation and reduce swelling, especially around injuries (eg sprained ankle) – both acute and chronic.

Intermittent Pneumatic Compression mimics the body’s muscle contractions to increase venous return and lymphatic flow.

This makes compression therapy an important tool in preventing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), and management of lymphoedema.

It is particularly beneficial for individuals who have experienced:

  • recent trauma,
  • operations,
  • poor circulation,
  • lymphoedema,
  • acute injury swelling
  • varicose veins
